BIOGRAPHY

László Pálfi baritone was born in Szekszárd, in 1984. He received first grade musical education in the Franz Liszt Art School in his home town from 1998 to 2003. He began as a guitarist pupil and two years later he became also a singer student. His guitar teacher was Miklós Környei Sr. and he was taught to sing by Gabriella Pintér in the first three years. For a further year his singing mistress was Ottilia Lang.

While László was studying in the I. Béla Grammar School and Secondary School of Informatics in a class of informatics, he was learning in a music school and had several choir singing tasks. In these years he had the opportunity to take part on the 10th International Orlando di Lasso Competition in Camerino in Italy, as the member of the Madrigal Choir in Szekszárd. The Choirmaster is Valér Jobbágy. László performed in masses, motets, cantatas (J. S. Bach: b-minor Mass, Zoltán Kodály: Missa Brevis, etc.) as the member of this choir.

After his final exam in 2003, he made a successful entrance exam to the three-year education of the Art Vocational School in Pécs as a singer. In the first semester his singing mistress was Beáta Müller; then, until the end of the training he studied at Alíz Hardi. He was thought to play the guitar by Bence Vas.

László received his degree as a Teacher and Performer of Singing at the University of Szeged Faculty of Music in 2011 as a pupil of Edit Dudásné Szécsi.

He took part in the masterclasses of several recognized artists, such as Krisztina Laki, Walter Moor, Ionel Panthea.

In 2009, 2010 and 2011 László has been awarded with an Accentuated Praise by the University of Szeged, Sófi József Scholarship committee. He won 3rd place with his essay and singing, performed on the 29th National Conference of Scientific Students Associations (OTDK) in 23rd April 2009.

The locations of his major performances in Hungary were as follows: the Móra Ferenc Museum and the REÖK Palace in Szeged, the House of Arts in Szekszárd, the Palace of Arts in Budapest and the Miskolc National Theatre. His concerts and performances had been broadcast by the Municipal Television – Szekszárd, TiszapArt TV – Szeged, and the Hungarian Television.

His repertoire is mainly based on the songs by L. v. Beethoven, Fr. Schubert, R. Schumann, G. Mahler and Fr. Liszt, Italian baroque canzones, arias in oratorios by J. S. Bach, G. F. Händel, F. Mendelssohn, some opera roles and arias by G. Donizetti and W. A. Mozart.
